ISKCON Temple, Delhi.

Description

The ISKCON temple is one of the famous temple of Lord Radha Krishna also known by the name Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Mandir, Lord Krishna and Radharani is worshipped here in the form of the main deity, the temple also houses the idols of Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi, Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. The temple is located in the East Kailash region of the capital on the hilltop of Hare Krishna Hills.It was constructed in 1993 by Achyut Kanvinde and inaugurated in the year of 1998 by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the past Prime Minister of India on the opportunity of Sri Ram Navami.

History

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement or Hare Krishnas, is a Gaudiya Vaishnava Hindu religious organisation. ISKCON was founded in 1966 in New York, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is the founder of (ISKCON) who is worshipped by followers as Guru and spiritual master. Its core beliefs are based on select traditional Hindu scriptures, particularly the Bhagavad-gītā and the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. ISKCON devotees are the largest branch of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and follow a disciplined line of Gaudiya Bhagavata Vaishnavas. This is an organization set up to motivate the people regarding Educational, Philanthropic, Religious studies, Spirituality. There are more than 20 temples only in India, and this is a worldwide organisation. It is one of the top visited tourist place in Delhi. It is not just a temple but also equal to a Vedic Learning Center in a very scientific way.
